You’re in the trenches.
I’ve been there too.
And I know the way out.
About TJ
I learned a lot from academics, but my real education came from running companies, solving hard problems, managing real people, and the exhilarating wins and painful losses that come from running your own business.
I've spent the last 15+ years working inside small businesses as a founder, an operator, and an advisor — not an outside observer. That time gave me the perspective to tell the difference between advice that sounds smart and advice that actually holds up on a busy Tuesday morning.
I've built teams, lost sleep over payroll, made the wrong hire, and had to have the conversations everybody dreads. I know what it feels like when the business is growing but is somehow getting harder to run — when you're working more but feeling less in control.
That's the moment most owners need someone who's been there. Not a framework from a book of the shelf. Not generic advice. Someone who can look at the actual business and tell you what's really happening and find the gaps to show you what it can really do.
That's what I do.
Where most owners get stuck
Do you have Underpants Gnomes syndome?
Confidence feels shaky
Always leading with your gut. But what is the plan?
Too much depends on you alone.
Delegation feels risky, at best.
You hold back more than you want to.
Clarity is illusive
Priorities keep shifting.
Roles are unclear.
Accountability is murky.
Every new idea feels urgent.
You're busy, but not moving forward.
Control feels slippery
Most days feel reactive.
Blowups happen and derail your week.
The business depends too much on you alone.
Key processes live only in your head.
What changes when it clicks.
When you find confidence, clarity, and control, the business stops running you.
You start running the business.
The 3 C’s.
Lead with Confidence
Decide once and move on.
Assertively lead each conversation.
Price your work with conviction.
Trust in your backup plan.
Trust in your people.
See with Clarity
Maintain a sturdy plan that guides the business.
Know what matters most right now.
Distractions are identified and dismissed.
Separate the forest from the trees.
Understand your numbers and how to use them.
Regain Control
Systems your team can actually use.
More predictable revenue.
Time back for the work that matters.
Scalability you can rely on.
You are no longer the bottleneck.

We could be a good fit.
If you’ve made it this far…
But let's be honest about who this works for.
The owners I do my best work with aren't just motivated — they're ready. They're introspective enough to know something has to change, coachable enough to act on hard feedback, and clear-eyed enough to want growth without burning out their health, their family, or their team in the process.
They're not looking for someone to tell them what they want to hear. They're looking for someone to tell them what's real — and help them build something that actually lasts.
If that sounds like you, you’ll feel it. Let's talk.
I only take on a small number of clients at a time. That's by design.
